We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Claims Supervisor in our Riverside, CA office. Overall responsibility is to supervise claims unit and other designated personnel including hiring and disciplinary action. Responsible for service to clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
•Client retention/satisfaction. •Review and approve all investigation, sub rosa and litigation referrals. •Review and approve all settlements over $50,000 and under $100,000. •Review and approve all reserve changes over $75,000 and under $200,000. •Maintain an active diary on all open claims reserved at or above $75,000. •Review and maintain diary on all cumulative traumas, joint coverage, serious & willful, 132a claims and subrogation claims. •Review and pre-approve all delays and denials. •Review all newly set up indemnity claims for adherence to Best Practices. •Conduct internal quarterly audits of all claims examiner. •Evaluation/Recognizing office staffing needs. •Update staff on labor code/legislation/case law. •Update staff on insured/self-insured procedures. •Prevention of penalties/maintenance of logs. •Timely Excess claims reporting management to the Reinsurance Manager. •Overseeing claims examiners, claims assistants and other designated personnel. •Customer service and satisfaction. •Insure PRIME deletions are referred only to office designee . •Provide training, leadership and guidance to staff. •Oversee, and attend when needed, all claims reviews. •Special projects. •Travel as required by management. •It is an essential function of this job that you arrive at your designated office location on-time, and ready to work your scheduled hours. •Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 5+ years experience as Claims Examiner. Prior Supervisor experience required. Self-Insurance Certificate, capable of passing exam within one year of hire. Effective self-starter, organizer, and leader requiring minimal supervision. Good communication skills.
SOFTWARE: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required. Familiarity with PC, printers and computerized voice and email systems.
