Seeking a highly-motivated and organized individual to support a fast-paced and fun risk management firm located in Sacramento, CA.
We manage outside counsel who defends our public entity clients, so there is no actual drafting or filing of legal pleadings.
If you have three to five years of experience in a litigation environment with a fundamental understanding of litigation and legal correspondence, then come join us an put those skills to work without the litigation crunch or deadlines.
Job duties include:
THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION AND IS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING.
Receiving and processing status updates from defense counsel, calendaring, communication with defense counsel, drafting litigation managers’ reports (updates) for client board meetings, and assisting the litigation managers with other duties as needed.
*College graduates will be given preference, but high school graduates with some college experience will be given serious consideration.
*Must be computer-literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
*The candidate must also be a self-starter who is able to work under pressure and requires very little guidance.

Work evidences excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading skills and grammatical skills
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of civil law and procedures including public entity law
Team player that delegates work appropriately, receives delegated work in an appropriate manner, and assists other employees as necessary
Experience in litigation, insurance law, or liability practice preferred but not required
Two years of experience doing analytic writing
Basic understanding of arbitration/litigation processes
