University of Pittsburgh Medical Center announced that it will offer telehealth services to evaluate workplace injuries for employers in the Susquehanna region.
Occupational health specialists can now use a connected device to evaluate an employee and determine effective treatment options for minor injuries or refer him to a higher level of care in more severe cases.
Nichole Frye, director of operations of the UPMC WorkCenter, said in a statement that the new telehealth services will reduce employees' time away from work and increase the speed of care.
UPMC WorkCenter is the health care provider's occupational health and safety branch, which covers workplace wellness programs, hiring processes and treatment of injured workers throughout North Central Pennsylvania. UPMC WorkCenter has locations in Williamsport, Wellsboro, Lock Haven and Muncy.
