Some residential care facilities in New York should see a significant reduction in their workers' compensation costs this year, thanks to safety improvements, an insurance group manager announced.
The Friedlander Group, manager for Residential Care Facilities of New York Workers' Compensation Safety Group No. 586, announced that a 15% dividend will be sent to members this month. The members of the safety group, which is underwritten by the New York State Insurance Fund, also will see a 25% advance discount on renewals, up from the usual 20% discount, the group said in a Sept. 12 news release.
Members also receive an annual 25% group discount.
"Residential care facilities in our safety group maximized their productivity and profits by keeping their employees safe and working,” said Adam Friedlander, president of the group management firm.
Safety groups are part of performance-based rebate programs that encourage safety and investments.
