Workers’ compensation defense firm Wintersteen Casarez announced that Randy Pollak will lead its Southern California market as managing attorney of its Los Angeles office.

Pollak will also lead the claims-legal consulting business in the firm, which will provide services to claims administrators on the most complex cases, best practices guidance, and state audit support and defense.

He comes to Wintersteen Casarez from Pacific Compensation Insurance Co., where he managed in-house operation for the past five years and served as the central resource to the legal team on all legal issues, including high exposure and complex cases, best practices and audit matters.

Pollak serves as an adviser to the executive committee for the Workers’ Compensation Section of the California Lawyers Association and as the managing editor of the association’s Workers’ Compensation Quarterly.

Wintersteen Casarez was formed by Erin M. Wintersteen and Angel Casarez. The firm, headquartered in Sacramento, is 100% women- and majority-minority owned.
