Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Co. announced Wednesday the promotion of Stephen Friedman to director of security and privacy.
Friedman will ensure that Chesapeake Employers adheres to laws and regulations regarding privacy and security of information pertaining to policyholders and claimants; assists in the development of policies, procedures and plans for protecting and securing company data; and participates in the development, maintenance and testing of the company’s disaster recovery and incident response plans, the carrier said in a press release.
Previously, Mr. Friedman held the position of senior internal auditor. Prior to joining Chesapeake Employers in July 2010, Friedman worked for SB & Co. LLC. He graduated from the University of Baltimore and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Friedman’s professional designations include Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
