An investigation conducted by the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division has led to the arrest of Laura A. Ditchkoff. According to Enforcement Division Director Stan BeXley, Laura A. Ditchkoff, age 42 and a resident of Alma, Georgia, was arrested on Monday, August 1, 2017 andtransported to the Coffee County Jail. Ditchkoff was arrested at the Coffee County Correctional Institute where she had been working since December of 2016 as an administrative clerk. Ditchkoff has been charged with 1 (one) count of Felony Insurance Fraud and 1 (one) Misdemeanor counts of False Swearing.
The Enforcement Division”s investigation alleges that Ditchkoff, who was formerly employed at J & L Package Service in Waycross, fabricated a work-related injury in August of 2016 for the purpose of receiving workers” compensation benefits. Ditchkoff claimed she received a work-related shoulder injury while delivering packages. The investigation revealed Ditchkoff wasn”t working the day of her alleged injury. Her employer”s insurance company denied the claim from the outset and no money was paid.
This case is still under investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
