Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies has an opening in our Pasadena, California Office location for Client Services Coordinator . The Client Services Coordinator manages a book of business of Workers’ Compensation policyholders with an Estimated Annual Premium (EAP) of $250k and above. The Client Services Coordinator supports new business growth through active participation in Client Services activities including prospective client and broker meetings, and manages the new business implementation process for assigned accounts. They also provide ongoing consultative account management services including installation meetings, claims reviews and pre-renewal meetings to clients while maintaining documentation of all customer/ broker activities in company databases.

  • Resolves customer service issues, appropriately addresses inquiries, acts as a liaison with service departments and troubleshoots effectively, follows up with all parties for resolution; utilizes monitoring tools to ensure continued compliance
  • Organizes and conducts new business implementation meetings with policy holders and brokers; conducts prospect calls and meetings
  • Conducts quarterly claims reviews with policy holders and brokers for each account assignment
  • Completes meeting synopses and Claims Professional surveys after every meeting and uploads to Docuview
  • Completes mock claims reviews with new claims professionals and others as required
  • Organizes and conducts pre-renewal meetings with account policy holders and brokers
  • Provides timely claim status report requests to clients and brokers
  • Provides timely feedback to Loss Control and Underwriting departments regarding account issues
  • Actively participates in classroom and on-the-job training by being attentive, taking notes, asking appropriate questions, and demonstrating mastery of the subject material
  • Exhibits continuous improvement under the guidance of the super visor and demonstrates mastery of fundamental knowledge and skills
  • Uses company computer systems and databases proficiently; establishes and maintains a diary system to manage account assignments
  • Collaborates with the Director of Client Services, team members and leadership to develop and implementeffective service practices; collaborates and fosters a positive working relationship with other departments and teams
  • Develops and delivers professional client service training to company employees and teams
  • Proactively communicates issues to supervisor and/or Director of Client Services
  • Ensures work is performed in accordance to Company standards, training and supervisory direction.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university
  • Experience: Minimum one to three years of California Workers’ Compensation claims handling or claims customer service experience required; must have experience participating in claims reviews and communicating and collaborating with internal and external customers
  • Certificates and Licenses: IEA, WCCP, Self Insured Certificate, ARM or CPCU a plus, Valid Driver’s License required
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; ability to successfully review other’s work products and provide appropriate feedback
  • Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Reasoning: Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions ; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Computer: Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software including intermediate Excel and presentation skills and be proficient on applicable databases, internal computer systems and vendor software programs
