Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies is looking for a Unit Supervisor for our Claims team in San Francisco. The Claims Unit Supervisor is responsible for the development, management, and performance of a unit of 5-7 Claims Professionals/Adjusters managing workers compensation claims.
  • Foster the personal and professional development and growth of individual Claim Professionals
  • Ensure the Claim Professionals produce successful claim outcomes by achieving prompt claim closures, high client satisfaction and effective claim cost containment
  • Ensure that claims are managed in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, case law, and Company standards
  • Actively reinforce Company initiatives including internal audit and strategic and tactical innovation and improvement
  • Identify and communicate training needs, assist upon request with facilitating training topics
  • Aid in the development of vendor panels by identifying qualifying and non-qualifying defense attorneys, nurse case managers, vocational rehabilitation consultants, and investigators.
  • Inquisitive, critical thinker; agile learner with adaptive, smart time management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree recipient (preferred)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in claims management (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in adjusting worker’s compensation claims
  • Licensed to adjust workers’ compensation claims in one or more jurisdictions
