State: Calif.
CAAA: The Final Finals: [2023-08-29]

The Legislature will finish its work for the year on Sept. 15.

CAAA is working hard on gender bias with a bill that has the U.C. Berkeley Labor Center gather and interpret accurate and objective data on how injured women are penalized for being women.

CAAA is pushing legislation extending temporary disability when an injured worker is denied and delayed medical treatment for so much time that their TD runs out.

Meanwhile, our labor movement partners are fighting:

  • To protect Teamster jobs and public safety by keeping autonomous big rigs off the roads. Driverless is dangerous.
  • To protect striking workers who are fighting to qualify for the unemployment insurance benefit that they paid for.
  • To protect everyone who gets sick or needs to take care of a sick child by legalizing more paid sick days, just like legislators themselves have.

A busy and important three weeks ahead.
