The manager of a banquet center in Niles, Ohio, has been sentenced to two years of probation after being found guilty of attempted workers’ compensation fraud.

Robert Leonard was found guilty by a Trumbull County judge on July 31 of one misdemeanor count of attempted workers' compensation fraud. The restaurant, McMenamy's LLC, was found guilty of a fourth-degree felony count of workers' compensation fraud, according to the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

Leonard failed to comply with repeated attempts by BWC to reinstate lapsed coverage for the business, BWC said. Full restitution has been paid to BWC in the amount of $13,224.

Leonard was sentenced on Monday, WKBN reported. McMenamy’s Banquet Center closed this year, WKBN said.
