Medical cost-containment company Medata opened a new office in Henderson, Nevada, after running out of room to add new staff to its office in California.
Tom Herndon, president of Medata, said in a statement that the company hit maximum capacity for its location in Irvine about two years earlier than expected. A few workers relocated from Irvine to the Las Vegas area to work in the new Nevada office, but Medata said it plans to hire mostly locals.
The 11,750-square-foot facility in Henderson will eventually house 100 employees in positions including sales, account management, nurse review, provider relations, bill review and information technology. The new office is at 450 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson.
Medata started as a medical bill review company in 1975. It provides cost-containment services and document management software to carriers, self-insured employers, third-party administrators, state funds, and public entities in the workers’ compensation and auto liability industries.
