The Michigan workers' compensation agency on Friday released new health care service rules and a new fee schedule, which will replace the 2016 schedule.
The fees are based in part on the October 2017 physicians fee schedule published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Michigan agency said.
Highlights of the new Michigan rules include updated laboratory procedure codes for drug testing; revised language for reimbursement of dispensed medication; and new billing and reimbursement rules for air ambulances.
The rules, fees and worksheets can be seen at the agency's website, which explains the seven methods used to calculate the maximum allowable payment for medical care, treatment, procedures and devices under the state's Workers' Disability Compensation Act.
