The Workers Compensation Research Institute and the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions teamed up to publish a report summarizing comp laws in all U.S. states as well as Canadian provinces.
The report, Workers’ Compensation Laws as of Jan. 1, 2019, can be used to answer questions such as how many states or provinces allow individual or group self-insurance; differences in indemnity benefit levels among states; and which jurisdictions cover conditions such as mental stress, hearing loss or cumulative trauma.
Other information in the report includes which jurisdictions allow workers to chose the treating physician, and which give employers the authority to select a doctor.
The study is available for free to WCRI members and can be purchased by non-members.
More information about the study is here.
