New Mexico’s Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Disease Disablement meets via Facebook Live on Thursday.

The advisory council monitors the state’s comp system and recommends statutory and regulatory changes on occasion. The council can endorse or oppose proposed workers’ compensation legislation, but lawmakers are not obligated to follow the council’s lead.

The council is also authorized to appoint members to the panel that approves independent medical examiners.

The council has not posted an agenda for the meeting, scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
