Arizona-based CopperPoint Mutual Insurance Co. announced the re-election of four members of its board of directors: LoriAnn Lowery-Biggers, Marc Schmittlein, Donald A. Smith Jr. and Stephen Tully.
The carrier said Lowery-Biggers is an insurance industry leader with more than 25 years of experience that includes serving as president of field operations and chief marketing officer for The Navigators Group Inc.. She also served as the North America president for Lloyd’s of London.
Lowery-Biggers joined CopperPoint’s board in 2015.
Schmittlein, CopperPoint’s president and chief executive officer, was elected to the board in 2017. He brought 30 years of experience to the carrier when he was hired in June 2016, including having served as president of the cyber-business division for The Travelers Co.
Smith was president and CEO of CopperPoint from 2000, when the carrier was still known as SCF Arizona, until 2016. He has served on the carrier’s board of directors since 2010.
Tully, the vice chairman of board, has been a director since 2010. He is a former state lawmaker and the managing partner in the Phoenix office of the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, where he practices commercial and governmental litigation.
