New Mexico’s workers’ compensation advisory committee is meeting Nov. 30 in Albuquerque.
The Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Disease Disablement monitors the state’s comp system and makes recommendations about potential changes to the law. The council can endorse or oppose proposed workers’ compensation legislation, although lawmakers are not bound to follow the council’s lead.
The council also has authority to appoint members to the panel of providers who select independent medical examiners.
An agenda for the Nov. 30 meeting will be posted to the council's page on the Workers’ Compensation Administration’s website no less than 72 hours before it starts.
The council meets at 9 a.m. at the WCA office, 2410 Centre Ave. SE in Albuquerque.
