§ 69L-3.001 Purpose.

The purpose of this rule chapter is to establish the responsibilities of the employer and

insurer to record and report workers' compensation accident information under Chapter 440, F.S., including the filing of claim forms with the Division, and to other affected parties. If an insurer contracts with another entity to handle claims on its behalf, the practices of the claims-handling entity in fulfilling the responsibilities under this chapter shall be deemed the practices of the insurer for the purposes of assessing penalties and fines against the insurer. These rules are intended to ensure the accurate and timely payment of compensation to the employee.
