“Melanie Schodde was not the presiding judge at Riverside, Tim Sanford-Wachtel is. Melanie was delightful and it was a pleasure to appear before her.”

“I was saddened to hear of Melanie's passing....I remember her from her days with Todd & Schodde in San Bernardino. She and Art Todd were two of my favorite applicant's attorneys during my early defense career in that town.”

“On behalf of all of us who have had cases before her, she was one to listen to both sides and allow all parties their due process rights. G-d must have had a Work Comp issue that couldn't be decided and needed a judge with the wisdom, experience and temperament of Judge Shodde. ”

“Melanie was not only a great judge with vast wisdom and experience, but she also had common sense, which is a commodity that seems to be lacking these days. The system has lost a superb jurist, but to those of us who were privileged to know her, we have lost a valued colleague and a beloved friend.”

“As an applicant's attorney, Melanie was quick to fight for what her clients needed. However, she was just as quick to tell a client when their expectations were unreasonable. She brought this same common sense approach to the bench. But more than that, she was a wonderful person. Melanie will be missed by many, not least of all me.”
