Athens Announces Expansion to San Antonio, TX with the Acquisition of 1-2-1 Claims, Inc.

Athens Administrators, a recognized leader in third-party claims administration services has acquired 1-2-1 Claims, Inc. expanding operations to eight (8) offices throughout the United States.

Concord, CA – Athens Administrators has acquired 1-2-1 Claims, Inc., a San Antonio, Texas licensed third-party administrator (TPA) company specializing in liability, self-insured workers’ compensation and non-subscriber benefit plan claims administration. The combined companies will deliver an even wider range of services, pricing options and flexibility that will be unique to the risk management services marketplace. The geographic expansion will position Athens to provide even more robust service offerings and support.

“It became clear that [organizationally] this would be a great fit since 1-2-1 Claims has a solid reputation and is known for their exceptional customer service, making them an outstanding addition to the Athens family.”, says James Jenkins, President of Athens Administrators. “I am excited about transitioning from a market observer to an aggressive participant in the Texas workers’ compensation claims administration world.”

“The acquisition works well for both companies for a couple of key reasons,” says Michelle Villarreal, President of 1-2-1 Claims. “The strengths of each company compliment the others in important strategic areas. Also, the organizations share similar histories and philosophies.”

Headquartered in Concord, California, Athens Administrators is a privately held third-party claim administration and managed care services company. Their clients include private self-insured entities, self-insured public agencies, insurance companies, joint power authorities, self-insurance groups and captives. The combined company will employ over 300 professionals who will be located in 8 offices throughout the United States.
