Ms. Honor-Vangerov is currently an attorney specializing in California Workers' Compensation. She is considered to be a leading expert on medical fee schedules and Medical-Legal issues and has been involved in the development and implementation of all the workers' compensation fee schedules for over 12 years. Ms. Honor-Vangerov began her workers' compensation career as a claims adjuster for the State Compensation Insurance Fund. She transitioned into a position as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. In 1994, Ms. Honor-Vangerov moved into the position of Information and Assistance Officer for the Van Nuys District Office of the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC). She held various positions of increasing responsibility within the DWC culminating in becoming the Manager of the DWC Medical Unit. As the Medical Unit Manager she oversaw the Qualified Medical Evaluator, Spinal Surgery Second Opinion, Medical Provider Network and Utilization Review programs. She developed the Medical Billing and Payment Guide and regulations for standardized paper and electronic billing in California workers' compensation. Ms. Honor-Vangerov received her Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing from the California State University, Hayward. She went on to receive her Juris Doctorate degree from Abraham Lincoln University in Los Angeles. In addition, she is a Certified Professional Coder, Certified Professional Coder – Instructor and a Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional. Ms. Honor has taught for Work Comp Academy, Work Comp Central, the California Society for Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS), California Orthopedic Association (COA), California Chiropractic Association (CCA), Insurance Educational Association (IEA), ACE/ESIS, various Claims/Legal Associations, has worked closely with the California Medical Association (CMA) and the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC). She has been a presenter at the Division of Workers' Compensation Educational Conferences. She is qualified as an instructor under California Insurance Code §11761 and Title 10, California Code of Regulations §2592.01.
