Dr. Walter R. Holmsten is a native Texan who was born and raised in the Houston area and graduated from Memorial High School. He majored in Biochemistry and Pre-med at the University of Texas Austin and graduated with honors in 1996. He then did his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston. He is Board Certified in Family Practice with concentration in Occupational Medicine and is certified to do Impairment Ratings for the Texas Department of Insurance. He has been practicing family and occupation medicine since 2004. He has 20 years’ experience in telemedicine and has been actively involved with telemedicine since joining RediMD in 2008. He is currently the RediMD senior medical director. Dr. Holmsten is also the Medical Advisor for the IMO TeleMed Connect Network Panel in Texas.
