Chubb Ltd. said it has named Suresh Krishnan chief operating officer of the insurer’s third-party administrator, ESIS Inc.

Krishnan, who has been New York-based, most recently served as head of North America accident and health and will report to Jim Shevlin, who was named ESIS division president this month.  

Chubb said in its statement that Krishnan’s responsibilities as COO include developing and implementing a range of strategies related to claims execution for the business, including overseeing the performance of technology; handling workers’ compensation, auto, general liability and specialty claims; legal; compliance; operations; process improvement; and product development.

Chubb said it has also named Lauren Gillette, who is Chicago-based, as executive vice president, head of North American accident and health, replacing Krishnan. The unit offers accident and health insurance to businesses, educational institutions, affinity groups and leisure travelers.

Gillette was most recently chief operating officer of Chubb’s North America accident and health division.
