The Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California announced that the Department of Insurance is holding a hearing in April on the proposed Sept. 1, 2025, regulatory filing.
The WCIRB at the end of February submitted a proposal that the Insurance Department increase the threshold for experience rating to $10,800 from $10,400. The WCIRB also proposed revisions to certain job classifications.
On Friday, the WCIRB announced that the Department of Insurance is holding a hearing on the proposal at 1 p.m. April 29.
The bureau said the Insurance Department will accept written comments through 5 p.m. on April 29.
Comments can be sent to CDI attorney Margaret Hosel at Margaret.Hosel@insurance.ca.gov.
The WCIRB said that if Hosel is not available, comments can be sent to CDI attorney Yvonne Hauscarriague at Yvonne.Hauscarriague@insurance.ca.gov.
The WCIRB said the Insurance Department is holding the hearing online and that parties can register here.
