Pie Insurance, which sells workers' compensation insurance online directly to small businesses, announced that it has expanded service to Alaska and Missouri.
Pie now provides comp coverage in 34 states plus the District of Columbia.
There are more than 16,000 small businesses in Alaska, and more than 120,000 in Missouri, Pie said in a statement.
"Despite their differences in sizes, the two economies both rely heavily on the success of their entrepreneurial workforces," the company said. "Health care, food service and retail small businesses are among the most successful ventures in both states."
Pie said its goal is to provide "coast-to-coast" coverage by the end of 2020.
Pie sells comp insurance directly to small businesses and works with insurance agencies to provide coverage to their clients. Pie operates as a managing general agency for Sirius America Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Sirius Group.
