Connecticut-based Paragon Insurance Holdings LLC opened a new office in San Diego, and hired Robert Etzler as senior vice president and director of workers’ compensation.

Etzler held leadership roles at Cypress Point-Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Atlas General insurance Services and Midwestern Insurance Alliance prior to joining Paragon, the agency said in a statement.

Paragon, a national multi-line specialty managing general agency based in Avon, Connecticut, also announced that it opened a new office in downtown San Diego. The company said it is in negotiations with other industry professionals and plans to expand its operations in San Diego.
