The Florida United Businesses Association now offers its members workers' compensation insurance through Lancer Indemnity Corp., the group announced this week.
The association of about 7,000 small businesses in Florida had offered the coverage through a self-insurance fund until this year, when the fund discontinued the partnership.
Lancer is a New York-based, A-rated insurer, the association said.
“This is an exciting new chapter for FUBA and our members,” Tom Stahl, executive director of FUBA, said in a statement. “For three decades we have been committed to helping Florida small businesses meet their workers’ comp needs, and this new partnership makes that protection stronger than ever.”
FUBA is a lobbying and education organization for small businesses, many of which are in the construction industry. Lancer is licensed in 19 states, including Florida, and is part of Lancer Financial Group.
