California has taken great strides since the inception of the lock-down by Governor Newsom in the Comp system. The DWC quickly enacted procedures to insure that injured workers would not have to face long delays and worry about their benefits being provided by the system. Technology has evolved so well over the past few years that the transition wasn't that difficult(especially for us older individuals) As difficult as it is it is(calling in and waiting to be heard)it's forcing both sides-applicant and defense attorneys to talk ahead of time and try to resolve their issues before calling in. Yes, It's painstakingly a long procedure calling in and listening to everyone's issues but as long as you mute your phone, I have found I can accomplish many tasks while waiting for my case to be called. I don't want this to be the "new" norm when the pandemic is over but for the time being it's working and things are getting accomplished. I still feel getting to the board and facing your opponent is beneficial and enjoyable. Without this injured workers could be facing a very long and hard road to - where do I turn next.
