Liberty Mutual Insurance appointed David Perez chief underwriting officer for Global Risk Solutions, the carrier’s commercial and specialty lines reinsurer.

Liberty Mutual said Perez will partner with underwriting leaders across GRS to develop and implement underwriting strategies for services provided to brokers and customers.

Perez has been with Liberty Mutual since 2012, most recently as chief underwriting officer for North America.

He succeeds James Slaughter, who is leaving the company, effective June 30.
