This is a timely study giving the widespread implementation of alternative work programs to temporary disability. About half of them are productive and beneficial while the other half are designed to create hardship such as adding freeway therapy to have injured workers drive long distances to alternative work locations, which particularly affects injured workers using public transportation as well as failure to comply with work restrictions. Some Regulation is probably needed in this area.
