The McCandlish Holton law firm in Richmond has hired two recent law school graduates to represent employers and insurance carriers in the defense of workers' compensation claims, according to a report by Richmond BizSense.com.
Eva Roffis
Both of the new hires, Eva Roffis and Andrew E. Sassoon, are waiting results from their Virginia Bar examination, according to the report.
Roffis took an interest in workers' compensation law while working as a litigation paralegal at McCandlish Holton prior to enrolling in law school, according to the law firm's website. She earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Miami School of Law after graduating from Washington & Lee University.
Roffis interned with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General and the Central Virginia Capital Defender Office.
Andrew Sassoon
Sassoon earned his Juris Doctorate at the College of William & Mary after receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond. He participated in the University of Richmond's Legal Externship Program and worked as a law clerk for the Equal Opportunity Commission.
While in law school, Sassoon was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board, and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.
As a member of the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board, he participated on a team that won the University of Richmond’s intra-scholastic negotiation competition and competed in the ABA Regional Negotiation Competition in Williamsburg, according to the law firm's website.
