Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. announced Thursday that it has named Douglas Anderson leader of Global Risk Solutions North America, Workers’ Compensation Claims.

Based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Anderson replaces Virna Alexander, who was recently named Liberty Mutual’s chief claims officer of Global Risk Solutions North America.

Anderson, who has worked for Liberty Mutual for more than 36 years, most recently was head of Global Risk Solutions North America, Central Region, Workers’ Compensation.

Liberty’s Global Risk Solutions provides a full range of traditional insurance, specialty and reinsurance risk solutions to businesses around the world.

Liberty Mutual, headquartered in Boston, is one of the largest global property and casualty insurers, based on gross written premium.

The carrier offers a range of insurance products and services, including workers’ compensation, personal automobile, homeowner, specialty lines, reinsurance, commercial multiple-peril, commercial automobile, general liability, surety and commercial property.
