B.J. Dougherty has joined Accuro Solutions as chief operating officer, the medical bill review and provider payment technology company announced on Tuesday.

Dougherty will be responsible for managing day-to-day business operations and will work closely with CEO Ken Hannigan to carry out the company’s strategy and vision.

Dougherty has more than 20 years of experience in workers’ compensation bill review and payment services.

Most recently, he was the senior vice president of bill review services at CareWorks, a division of Sedgwick. He held various leadership positions at MCMC, York Risk Services and Sedgwick.

Earlier, Dougherty served as vice president of bill review at NHR/Options and Concentra Managed Care Services after starting his career at CorVel.

Accuro Solutions is based in Sarasota, Florida, and provides bill process technology and services for companies in the property and casualty insurance industry.
